BBC Bircher Automation can look back on an eventful history with highs and lows. When Giorgio Behr joined in 1991, BBC Bircher Automation started its internationalization and the development towards becoming a global, economically solid automation company.
The Journey from 1957 to Today
A summary of the most important milestones:
1957: the company Max Bircher AG is founded in Schaffhausen.
1962: Moves to Beringen
1965: Founding of the business areas of equipment, control systems and engineering (to become BBC Bircher Automation later).
1975: Conversion of sole trading company Max Bircher into a public limited company
1989: First certification with quality management norm ISO 9001.
1991: Take over by Prof. Dr. Giorgio Behr. Participation of further investors
1994: Focus on becoming a complete provider for engineering and control system build
2001: Launch subsidiary company in Hranice (Czech Republic).
2003: Integration into the BBC Group.
2012: Launch of new build in Hranice offering over 3‘000 m² production space
